Resources for Gardeners

  • Grow Pittsburgh's Garden Resource Center

The Garden Resource Center (GRC) is a tool-lending library and garden materials depot managed by Grow Pittsburgh. They reduce barriers to growing food by making it easier for gardeners in our region to access the tools and supplies they need to grow beautiful and productive home and community gardens. Many Swissvale gardeners are members!

  • Seeds Over Swissvale

Seeds Over Swissvale is a seasonal, dispersed seed swap via the many Little Free Libraries of Swissvale! It’s a great way to get started for the season, and it’s fun to go on a hunt for unique seed varieties all over town. Inside each Little Free Library you’ll find plastic containers of seed packets. Take anything you want - no need to have seeds to trade.

  • Tips from Swissvale Gardeners

Find tips and resource suggestions from Swissvale gardeners on topics like growing tomatoes, cooking with your garden harvest, and more.

Let us know if you’d like to write a guest post - email swissvalegardens@gmail.com. You could write about designing or establishing your space, focus on a favorite plant, or your reflections on something garden-related.

The best way to learn about gardening is to connect with other gardeners!
