Welcome to the Swissvale Edible Garden Tour!

A group of garden-loving neighbors first organized this FREE, community-wide event in 2019 to foster a supportive network of gardeners in and around Swissvale, to inspire confidence in new and young gardeners, to promote local food resources.

This year’s event has two parts, both held on Saturday, July 11: Open Gardens runs from 9AM-1PM and the Community Picnic runs from 1:00PM-3:00PM.

Open Gardens is CYOA (Choose Your Own Adventure) - start wherever you’d like and visit stops in any order. Printed guides are available at the Info Table in front of the Carnegie Free Library of Swissvale (9AM-1PM) and at the Swissvale Farmers Market (9AM-12PM). The guide contains a map and schedule of events, along with more info.

At 1:00PM the Community Picnic begins. Join us at the lower pavilion in Les Getz Memorial Park for food, activities, music, and to meet other tour-goers and garden stop hosts.
